About Me

I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Therapists of Ontario, practising on the West side of Toronto. I can also be called a Family Counsellor or Mental Health Therapist. I was inspired to obtain my Master’s degree in Counselling after having my third child and experiencing the ups and downs of family life myself.

I will be the first to tell you that there is no perfect parent…but there are many approaches you can take to resolve issues without raising your voice.

I promote a ‘backbone’ parenting style as defined by Barbara Colorosso, which focuses on a kind, positive, and firm approach to discipline. For the past 10 years, I have assisted parents, in both English and French, with discipline issues in my workshops with Parent Education Network, a non-profit organization helping parents around the Greater Toronto Area.

My training includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Behavioural Activation, Motivational Interviewing, Positive Psychology and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills. I have experience working with an adult population struggling with depression, anxiety, grief, trauma, conflicts, and parenting.

There is Help

Are you feeling overwhelmed and cannot prioritize due to multiple responsibilities? Are you a working or stay-at-home parent who needs to talk about how freaking hard this is? Do you find yourself unfulfilled and wondering which direction to take? I work with individuals who have lost track of their own needs and desires and cannot find the way back. This is done in an open and safe environment by exploring your thoughts, values, and goals.

Call me to book a free 15-minute conversation to determine how you can step into a world of possibilities and let the sunshine in.

My Philosophy

I see the relationship between client and counsellor as equal. We are both climbing our own mountain of life, as explained by Russ Harris in his book The Happiness Gap. I have a different perspective of what you are struggling with from where I stand. I can see the large boulders, the lack of steps, the steep wall and I can assist in presenting you with the right tools to help you get around, over or under so that you continue to move forward.

I want to incorporate the outdoors as well as animal therapy into my practice whenever possible. For this reason, I encourage my clients to meet me on the trails to walk and talk. I also do video or telephone counselling.
